What's This?

Sony has revealed quite a handful of new products at IFA this year, including the much anticipated Xperia Z1, set to take over as the smartphone manufacturers’ flagship device for the rest of the year.

The company started with cameras, announcing the NEX-5T, RX100M2 and RX1R. The NEX-5T is the newest camera, coming with NFC and extra peripherals. They also launched a high-quality HDR-MV1 music video recorder. They then went onto announce a 4K handycam, 4K projector, SoundBar and a few new audio devices.

The QX100 and QX10 Smart Lens cameras were announced, they work through WiFi or NFC and attach to cameras running iOS or Android. No price was revealed, but the Smart Lens’ will be coming sometime at the end of this year.

Sony announced the Xperia Z1 but did not go into detail about specs, apart from the incredible camera. The 20MP shooter comes with BIONZ image processing, G Lens, 1/2.3 camera sensor, x3 optical zoom and Exmor RS sensor.

Inside there will be the latest Snapdragon processor, which we expect to be the Snapdragon 800 with 2GB of RAM. Sony is adding a lot of free content onto the Xperia Z1, we are not sure if this is a German exclusive, but ever Xperia Z1 owner gets a free copy of Elysium once it launches onto digital download.

Sony also announced a release date for Smartwatch 2, coming sometime next month to the global market. It is still an ugly device and has little appeal, even though Sony pitches it as the perfect companion to the Xperia Z1.
