The Sony Xperia Z1 may have just been announced six days ago, but already leakers have grabbed a hold of an incredible high-quality shot of the Xperia Z1 Mini alongside the Xperia Z1, both in Sony’s primary color purple.
With the HTC One Mini and Galaxy S4 Mini, it was only a matter of time before Sony added the Xperia Z1 Mini to the market. This may not be the mid-range smaller smartphone we are used to seeing however, with Sony preparing to add some heavy specs.
On the outside, the Xperia Z1 Mini will have a 4.3-inch 720p display with the same well built design we are used to seeing on Xperia devices. The internals are the exciting part, with the Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB of RAM and 20.7MP camera staying on the Xperia Z1 Mini.
The 20MP camera is the main feature here, the Xperia Z1 Mini is set to come at a mid-range price, maybe $99 on a two year contract or $499 off contract. For Android fans that want a more condensed experience, this may be the perfect solution.
We must take the specs with a little caution, the 720p screen and high performance ma make the Xperia Z1 Mini an even more perfect solution to the Xperia Z1. With the lower resolution screen, we could see the Xperia Z1 Mini come with full day battery life.
There is no news on when this will be released, previous rumours have said at IFA but that never happened. Perhaps Sony will launch it at some Japanese event before the end of the year.
