Sony is trying to double down on leaks, but they keep coming with the Xperia series, first with the Xperia Z1 and now with the Xperia Z1 Mini and Xperia Z2, two unofficial devices already spotted by many leakers.
In the mist of all the leaking, someone has gotten hold of a Japanese magazine showing the Xperia Z1 Mini on a two page commercial, in an array of different colors to suit the user preference.
It seems almost comical Sony let this get out, considering the Xperia Z1 Mini is not even official yet and the magazine promotion should have not been in circulation until the release, it looks like everyone is eager to find out more about Sony’s smaller device.
The Xperia Z1 Mini is pictured with four different colors, surprisingly purple is not on the list. The four colors include the traditional black and white, and then the rather funky red and yellow. The phone is heading to NTT DoCoMo, the largest Japanese carrier.
Specs wise, the Sony Xperia Z1 Mini is pretty impressive for its smaller 4.3-inch shell, with a 720p display, quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 2300mAh battery and the enormous 20.7MP camera.
We still have no news about release date or price for the Xperia Z1 Mini, we assume it will be coming before the end of the year, as this promotion in the magazine points to somewhere in the next month.
If Sony can get this at a reasonable price point, it may be tempting for any Android user who likes a smaller size phone, the equivalent size of about the iPhone.
