What's This?

Besides gaming consoles, TVs and smartphones, Sony’s expertise in the consumer electronics industry covers a wide range of products, and its various audio offerings are some of the most impressive ones out there. With that in mind, the Japanese tech giant isn’t content on resting on its laurels, and recently announced the launch of several products under a new brand.

More specifically, Sony unveiled its ULT POWER SOUND line, which carries four different devices designed for different purposes. This consists of three wireless speakers dubbed the “ULT TOWER 10,” “ULT FIELD 7,” and “ULT FIELD 1,” as well as a pair of wireless headphones that Sony calls the “ULT WEAR” headphones. As such, buyers can expect impressive sound quality from these new products, at least according to Sony.

ULT TOWER 10

The largest of the bunch, the ULT TOWER 10 is designed for use indoors with a rather imposing size and design. The speaker comes with a Sound Field Optimization feature that is capable of detecting any nearby noise and then changing its sound settings to compensate, allowing for a clearer listening experience.

Aside from functioning primarily as an indoor speaker, Sony has also designed the ULT TOWER 10 as a go-to party machine, which can pair with a wireless microphone for weekend karaoke sessions, as well as a built-in 360-degree lighting system, and the ability to connect to additional speakers for a more stereo-sound setup. users can also choose to pair the TOWER 10 to a TV.

ULT FIELD 7 and ULT FIELD 1

In addition to the TOWER 10, Sony has also introduced the more portable ULT FIELD 7 and ULT FIELD 1 speakers, designed to accompany users who want a bit of entertainment while outdoors. With that said, both speakers are designed to be waterproof and dustproof, and Sony has added a much-welcome shockproof design for the FIELD 1. Since they’re meant to be used mostly away from home, the FIELD 1 and 7 are able to last for up to 12 and 30 hours of playtime respectively.

It should be noted that while both speakers can be carried around, the FIELD 7 is considerably larger than the ULT FIELD 1, which can be hooked up to a strap and is a bit more suited for portability. The FIELD 1 also comes in more colour variants, including black, forest grey, off white and orange.

ULT WEAR HEADPHONES

For an even more portable listening experience, Sony also offer its new ULT WEAR headphones, which pack a lot of the usual features you’d find on most modern-day headphones including active noise cancelling features, a considerably hefty bass sound, in addition to a comfortable design. Available in black, forest grey and white, the headphones pack an Integrated Processor V1 for high-fidelity audio, in addition to support for wear detection.

As for pricing, buyers in the UK can grab the ULT TOWER 10 for £1,000, while the FIELD 7 goes for £400, and the FIELD 1 for £120. Meanwhile, the ULT WEAR Headphones start at £180.
