The wait is finally over for all you T-Mobile users in the U.S.! It was announced yesterday (Tuesday March 26th, 2013) at T-Mobile’s media event in New York City, NY that the fourth place mobile carrier in the United States will begin official sale of the Apple iPhone 5 as of April 12th, 2013! This is especially big news right now, because as of yesterday T-Mobile now offers full LTE coverage in select regions around the nation!
T-Mobile has decided to set it’s self apart from the other three U.S. carriers that offer the iPhone 5 by selling the device a little bit differently! Instead of pushing their customers to sign a full two-year contract with the carrier, T-Mobile will give the customer the choice of paying full price for the phone at time of purchase OR allow them to spread the expense over a 24 month period with monthly installments!
If the customer decides to go with the ladder payment option they will have to pay $99 up-front at time of purchase and then pay $20 per month for the next 24 months! The total price of the device will come out to around $580 after the 24 month period – In the long run this means that the customer will have paid around $70 less than buying a factory unlocked iPhone 5 straight away!
T-Mobile has allowed it’s customers to activate unlocked iPhones’ on it’s network for years, and it has still struggled to keep up with the other three main mobile carriers in the United States. Do you think that with T-Mobile now officially selling the iPhone, combined with their new strategy for selling the device, and the fact that they just rolled out LTE coverage give them a fighting chance to become more competitive in the U.S. mobile market?

Rockwell7 Yeah I’m sure that if this pricing plan works out well for T-Mobile that it will spread through mobile carriers world wide like wildfire! I’m really glad that you enjoyed the post, there will be many more to come from me! =)
