What's This?

It’s the weekend again, and what better way to head into the new week than with a recap of all the tech goodness we’ve had over the past several days. There’s a lot to cover as well, especially with Samsung’s major launch event, as well as new releases from newcomers to the industry such as Nothing’s CMF brand – with that being said, let’s get started!

Samsung’s New Foldables Take Centre Stage

Samsung recently unveiled its newest lineup of foldable devices, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6. While the company also introduced several new products to the market, its foldables were undoubtedly the biggest attractions in the show. Packing design refinements and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets, the Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 also come with Samsung’s new AI features, and impressive displays. The Galaxy Z Flip6 starts at £1,049, while the Z Fold6 is priced at £1,799.

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Ultra Looks Familiar

One look at the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra and you’d probably mistake it for Apple’s own Ultra-themed smartwatch. Of course there are some key differences in terms of software, as the Galaxy Watch Ultra comes with Wear OS and Samsung’s One UI Watch platform as well. Other features include a dedicated shortcut button, a titanium chassis, 3,000 nits of peak brightness, several new new sports and fitness modes, and more. The Galaxy Watch Ultra is priced at £599.

The Galaxy Ring is a Minimalist Approach to Smart Fitness

Priced at £399, Samsung’s new Galaxy Ring is a minimalist option for users who want to track their health. With the exception of a touch display and a vastly different form factor, the Galaxy Ring works similarly to a smartwatch – users can track their health 24/7 including heart rate, sleep patterns and respiratory rate, among a host of other features. Samsung has used Grade 5 Titanium for this one in addition to 10ATM water resistance which makes it safe to wear almost everywhere.

Meet CMF’s First-ever Smartphone

Up next we have the CMF Phone 1, the debut smartphone of Nothing’s sub-brand. The first thing that users will notice is the phone’s customizable design, which allows it to work with swappable back cases and accessories. Inside the phone is a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 5G processor, paired with up to 16GB of RAM. The phone runs on a pretty large (and standard-sized) 5000 mAh battery, and upfront you’ll find a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED 120Hz display.

Sony’s ZV-E10 II is Designed for Content Creators

Last but not the least we have the new ZV-E10 II, a mirrorless camera from Sony that’s designed with content creation in mind. The camera features upgrades over its predecessor, such as a 26 megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor and Sony’s latest BIONZ XR image processing engine. Other goodies with the ZV-E10 II include improved autofocus and video capture, 759-point Focal Plane Phase-detection AF with Real-time Eye AF for live subject and real-time tracking, as well as a larger battery (up to 195 minutes of video recording per charge), all in a package that weighs just 377 grams.
