Lenovo’s recent work on its many Android tablets has been impressive, with the manufacturer offering different performance and usage tiers for consumers with varying budgets and needs. As such, Lenovo announced the arrival of its new Tab Plus, which is geared towards users after a tablet for content consumption – you know, the one that will ultimately serve as the go-to device for Spotify streams, Netflix binges, and more.

With that said, you might be wondering what makes it different from competing devices on the market – after all, buyers looking for a premium Android tablet might go for any of Samsung’s S-series slates, or for more affordable options, Amazon’s Fire range of devices. Lenovo has fitted the Tab Plus with some rather impressive components which help it stand out from an otherwise crowded tablet space.
Design and Display
In terms of aesthetics, the Lenovo Tab Plus features a sleek design that comes in a single “Luna Grey” colour that’s reminiscent of most modern tablets on the market. This houses a large 11.5-inch 2K (2000 x 1200) resolution LCD display, which comes with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate for a more responsive and visually pleasing experience when scrolling about, playing games and such. It’s a welcome feature, especially since other market options seldom come with a reasonably high refresh rate.
It’s not too bright however and is limited at a maximum brightness of 400 nits, although it should be viewable even in most conditions. Lenovo has also designed the tablet to work with a stand which should be ideal to prop it up for some desktop movie-viewing, again leaning towards its selling point as an entertainment-focused Android device.
Major Highlight
Perhaps the biggest selling point of the Lenovo Tab Plus is its onboard audio setup. Built into the tablet is an impressive speaker setup which is composed of eight separate Hi-Fi speakers from sound guru JBL, all tuned with Dolby Atmos sound. In more technical terms, this means that users get access to 26W of stereo sound via four matrix tweeters and four force-balanced woofers, as well as deeper bass and clearer treble. There’s also support for 24-bit high-res audio at 96kHz frequency when using headphones.
Additional Specs and Pricing
Inside, the Lenovo Tab Plus is powered by a MediaTek G99 processor, which should provide enough power for everyday tasks and light gaming – it’s nothing fancy although the G99 powers a lot of mid-tier devices on the market, making it a safe bet for the Tab Plus. The tablet also comes up to 8GB of RAM and and a choice of either 128GB or 256GB of storage, which can be further expanded with a microSD card. For software, you’ll find Android 14 onboard, with a promise of OS upgrades for 2 years and security patches until June 2028.
For cameras, the Lenovo Tab Plus features an 8MP front-facing camera for video calls and selfies. The rear camera likewise comes in at 8MP with autofocus capabilities, which should be enough for a handful of snaps every now and then. As for how much you’ll be spending on this one, the Lenovo Tab Plus is priced at €279 for select markets, competing with other tablets such as the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite and Galaxy Tab A9+, to name a couple.
