The OnePlus Watch 2 is undoubtedly one of the best Wear OS devices that we’ve seen this year, and it looks like OnePlus is looking to bank on the Watch 2’s popularity with the launch of a new colour variant, which makes its way to buyers in Europe. Dubbed the “Nordic Blue” edition, the new OnePlus Watch 2 variant joins its other “standard-looking” siblings in OnePlus’ smart wearable lineup. With that being said, the Nordic Blue watch also launches alongside the OnePlus Pad Go, a more affordable version of the OnePlus Pad. Commenting on the launch, Bingo Liu, CEO for OnePlus Europe states:
“As a premium Android brand, our latest product strategy is centred around building a powerful and connected ecosystem of high-quality OnePlus devices across smartphones, tablets, wearables and audio… Europe represents a key region for us, and we are committed to providing our community here with a holistic fast & smooth product experience. The addition of the latest OnePlus Watch 2 Nordic Blue Edition underscores the importance of the European region and our commitment of bringing locally relevant products. The expansion of our tablet offering with the OnePlus Pad Go, further enhances our mission of making great technology accessible to all.”
OnePlus says that the Watch 2 Nordic Blue Edition is inspired by the “Scandinavian beauty and design aesthetics,” and represents a perfect blend of style and functionality. The design draws from the Nordic Ocean and nautical hues, with contrasting royal blues and bright whites, and an exclusive two-tone blue GMT dial which resembles classic marine GMT chronometers. The watch also comes with an all-new hybrid leather strap, which combines fluororubber and genuine leather for a stylish look and skin-friendly feel.
In terms of other specifications, the OnePlus Watch 2 comes with a 2.5D sapphire crystal cover, which adds a bit of durability against scratches in addition to a MIL-STD-810H US standard rating, as well as IP68 and 5ATM water resistance. The AMOLED touch display measures 1.43 inches, and gets really bright at up to 1,000 nits.
Inside, the Watch 2 runs on the Snapdragon W5 chipset with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which works in tandem with the BES 2700 MCU Efficiency chipset. As per OnePlus, this setup ensures that the watch will have no trouble with everyday performance and power efficiency. Speaking of power, the device packs a 500mAh battery and can last up to 100 hours of regular use in Smart Mode, or up to 48 hours with more frequent and heavy usage. For charging, the Watch does support 7.5W VOOC fast charging that fully replenishes the battery in just an hour.
In terms of pricing, the OnePlus Watch 2 Nordic Blue edition comes priced at £329 / €379. Buyers can pre-order in the first 48 hours (April 23rd to May 25th) and subscribe to save up to €80 and get Free Buds 3 earphones included, or pre-order between April 29th and May 3rd to save €30 and get Free Buds 3 earphones included, or buy the Watch 2 together with the OnePlus 12 to get 20% off the phone’s price.
