As far as Android tablets go, we have yet to see a device that can rival Apple’s iPad line in terms of overall power and popularity. Sure, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab series are among the most premium Android slates that you can get, although they might seem overpriced at times especially given the hardware inside. With that in mind, Oppo recently announced a new addition to its handful of tablets with the Oppo Pad 4 Pro, and it’s got its sights set on competing premium slates.

Perhaps the Oppo Pad 4 Pro’s biggest hardware highlight is its chipset—Oppo has equipped the tablet with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, a mobile processor more commonly seen on high-end flagship smartphones. It certainly allows for more versatility in terms of overall performance with the tablet, and you’ll be able to use the Pad 4 Pro for both work and play, especially with resource-intensive apps and games like Genshin Impact, LumaFusion, and CapCut to name a few. It also comes with a maximum RAM and storage configuration of 16GB + 512GB, so you’re getting a lot of flexibility here for everyday usage and performance.

The Pad 4 Pro also comes with a massive display—in front is a 13.2-inch screen with a sharp 2400×3392 pixel resolution, with a decent brightness of 900 nits and a super-smooth 144Hz refresh rate. One thing to note however is that it only comes with an LCD display, so you’re not getting the typical contrast and saturation found on OLED panels. Nevertheless, it’s ideal for content consumption such as Netflix and Prime binges, and gaming as mentioned earlier. This screen is wrapped in an all-aluminium body which adds to its overall premium look and feel.

As for software, you’re getting the latest (at this time, at least) Android version 15, which is layered with Oppo’s proprietary Color OS 15. This includes access to Oppo’s own suite of apps and customization features, some of which aren’t found on leaner builds of Android such as on Pixel or Xperia smartphones, for example. Given the powerful chipset inside, we’d imagine that the Pad 4 Pro would have little trouble breezing through the user interface. As for battery, the tablet is powered by a massive 12,140 mAh capacity cell, which also supports a decent 67W wired charging speed.

The overly large battery in combination with fast charging means that you’ll rarely run out of juice when using the tablet. Of course individual usage will vary, but it’s safe to say that the Oppo Pad 4 Pro is an all-day device. As for pricing, the tablet starts at 3299 yuan which is around £345 when converted, although at the moment there’s no word on UK availability—we’re keeping our fingers crossed that this one eventually arrives on UK shores, though.
