What's This?

Mobvoi has been busy these past few months – after announcing that it’s working on bringing over Wear OS 4 to its flagship TicWatch Pro 5 as well as new software updates to its older wearable devices, the company recently announced the launch of its latest smartwatch, the TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro. Granted, it’s not exactly a Pro 6 successor, but the Pro 5 Enduro does add some rather welcome updates to last year’s top-of-the-line Mobvoi wearable. Let’s check them out!

Updates to Design

At first glance, you might think that the TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro comes with the same exact shell as the base model, and we can’t blame you. It should be noted though that while it does look generally similar, Mobvoi has introduced some slight changes to the watch’s external hardware. For one, the Enduro packs a sapphire glass cover for the touchscreen, which is a big upgrade for durability. The company also says that it’s improved the rotating crown for a more fluid experience, and has tweaked the metal bezel around the display. There’s also a redesigned strap which feels a bit more substantial than the one on the Pro 5.

Better Battery Life

For battery, Mobvoi claims that the Pro 5 Enduro can last for up to 90 hours on smart mode – that’s nearly four days of usage, comparable to the OnePlus Watch 2‘s battery endurance. This also slightly extends beyond the TicWatch Pro 5’s battery performance, which maxes out at 80 hours of use with smart mode. Mobvoi adds that users can extend this for up to 45 days on essential mode, although of course this means that you have to give up using certain features. Still, 90 hours on a single charge is impressive for a Wear OS device, but keep in mind that different usage patterns will affect your overall battery.

Other New Features

One big addition to the Enduro’s feature set versus older TicWatch models is the introduction of Snore Detection, which gives users additional data and insights regarding their sleep habits and patterns, and suggests tips to improve their sleep such as different positions for example. Users can also keep an eye on their workout metrics directly on the low-power display, reducing the time needed to access the watch’s main display – all the essential info is available at a glance. Mobvoi also says that several new workout modes have been added to the device’s software, giving users more flexibility in terms of how they want to program their workouts sessions.

How much is it?

As for price, the TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro costs $349.99, and can be purchased via Moboiv’s official website, as well as retail partners including Amazon. At this price, the Enduro competes with other premium wearables such as Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 6 Classic series, although it is a bit more expensive versus other flagship watches like the OnePlus Watch 2 and Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro, although these aren’t exactly designed for rugged use like the Enduro.

All in all, if you’re after a wearable device with access to essential Google apps, a rugged design and great battery life, then the TicWatch Pro 5 might be a great fit for you.
