The iPhone 5S will be announced today at the Apple iPhone event in Cupertino, the company is preparing to launch two new iPhones alongside the public release date for iOS7 and some little surprises.
With Apple to add minimal changes to the overall design of the iPhone, the fingerprint sensor does strike a spark of excitement. The WSJ has confirmed Apple will bring this feature to the iPhone 5S, giving the leak more verification.
The fingerprint sensor has been placed on laptops and other tech gadgets in the past, but with pretty bad results. Apple needs to make sure the experience works first time, they cannot risk a failure like they had with Siri and Apple Maps.
Other features set to come on the iPhone 5S include a dual-LED 13MP camera, A7 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 128GB storage option and a slightly larger battery.
Apple will launch the iPhone 5S with four different colours according to new reports, these colours will include the traditional black and silver, plus gold and granite. There may be more colours coming for the iPhone 5S, gold and granite are the only two leaked so far.
The iPhone 5C is also expected to be announced today at the event. This will be Apple’s push into developing markets, with a cheaper price, lighter specs sheet and some different funky colors, including white, green, blue, yellow and pink.
