Xiaomi is known for giving users “bang-for-your-buck” smartphones, and its Redmi K-series phones more or less often deliver on that front. With that in mind, the company recently unveiled two new smartphones in the form of the Redmi K80 and K80 Pro, which come with considerably-terrific hardware features. They’re currently exclusive for Chinese markets, although there’s word that they might eventually make their way overseas. Let’s take a look at what they come with!

Redmi K80
First up is the Redmi K80, which comes with a rather affordable price tag – in fact, it only costs around £275 when converted, making it way more affordable than competing devices like the Pixel 8a or the Galaxy A55, for example. Despite the low price however, there’s a lot to love about the phone especially when you consider the hardware involved. For one, the phone is powered by the impressive Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is joined by up to 1TB of storage and 16GB of RAM, as well as a 6,550 mAh battery with 90W charging speeds.
The K80 features an OLED display that measures 6.67 inches, and is rather sharp with a 1440×3200 pixel resolution. You also get a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,200 nits of peak brightness, all protected under a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. For cameras, it does come with a somewhat basic setup, consisting of a dual-camera module that houses a 50MP main camera, in addition to an 8MP ultrawide camera; for selfies and video calls, there’s a 20MP front-facing camera. For software, the phone comes with Android 15 and HyperOS 2 pre-installed.
Redmi K80 Pro
Meanwhile, the more premium K80 Pro comes in priced at around £400 when converted. It features a somewhat similar-looking design, and even comes with some of the same specifications such as a 6.67-inch OLED display with the same refresh rate and brightness, the same storage and RAM configurations starting from 12GB/256GB up to 16GB/1TB, and even the same software version. That said however, there are of course key differences which sort of justify its slightly more expensive price tag on the Redmi K80 Pro.
The biggest difference is the chip inside the Pro model – the smartphone features a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, Qualcomm’s latest model which succeeds the 8 Gen 3. It also comes with Dragon Crystal 2.0 glass, a triple-camera system with a 50MP main camera, a 32MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP 60mm telephoto lens. It does pack a smaller battery, although it charges faster with 120W charging support, and there’s even a custom-designed 3D dual-loop vapor chamber for better cooling during gaming, which Xiaomi claims can reduce temperatures by as much as three degrees.
Lastly, the Redmi K80 Pro also comes in a special Automobili Lamborghini Squadra Corse edition, which features a more angular-looking and gamer-oriented design, a vibrant contrast to the otherwise minimalist styling on the “regular” model (which itself looks rather close to the standard K80 variant).
